A word from the authors

Time for Taiwan! 旅行台湾就是现在 ! Taïwan, c’est maintenant !

Prior to our two-week trip around Taiwan, we noticed that there was really little relevant information in English online regarding the decent amount of people who do such a tour every year. Therefore, sharing relevant and useful feedback with people who wish to engage in a “Tour de Taiwan” or who are simply looking for information about the island is one of the goals we follow while writing this blog, the second one being building something solid (although virtual) with all our great memories and pictures who would otherwise become yet another notebook / photo folder deprived of any soul.

To give this blog a higher chance to reach at least a few readers, we decided to write it in English, which will surely imply some typos, grammar mistakes and a few "Franglish" phrases here and there. Although French is still spoken by hundreds of millions of people throughout the world, few of them actually know about Taiwan (which is often mixed-up with China or Thailand) and everything that the island has to offer to travelers.

Please feel free to leave comments, questions, precisions or even corrections to what we write here. We both look forward to reading you!

About us:

Benoît D.

Currently finishing up a Master in Business Sciences in northern France, I fell in love with Eastern Asia when doing a study exchange year in Hong Kong in 2010-2011 (where I met Louis). I grabbed this opportunity to travel through East and South-East Asia and love to come back whenever possible.

A final year Master's student in Finance & Strategy in Paris, France, I lived in Taipei for 7 months including a 6-month internship and a few weeks traveling and studying Chinese. Just like Benoît, I discovered Asia for the first time in 2010 and have looked forward since then to coming back here.
